A stunning last heat decider saw the Mildenhall Fen Tigers maintain their unbeaten home record - whilst also inflicting the first defeat of the league season on table-topping Eastbourne yesterday.
The Fen Tigers were faced with their first home defeat of the season after trailing 43-41 in heat 15, but a storming final heat performance from Jon Armstrong and youngster Jordan Jenkins saw Mildenhall snatch the points in dramatic style.
The victory put Mildenhall above champions Birmingham in the National League standings and promoter Kevin Jolly was pleased to seal the three points.
He said: “This is an important three points and sets us up nicely for Sunday’s cup tie with Stoke.
“The entertainment in the last couple of meetings has been real edge-of-the-seat stuff and hopefully we can progress into the last four of the cup to keep a positive season heading in the right direction.”
