Mildenhall Fen Tigers hope it is a case of fourth time lucky this Saturday night.
The local club aim to launch their National League campaign when facing Stoke under the West Row lights, 7.30pm.
Mildenhall saw their season-opening Fen Fours event and two National Trophy fixtures postponed during recent wet weather, but will hope to make up for lost time by getting their league campaign off to a winning start.
Promoter Kevin Jolly said: “Stoke will be no pushovers. They are led by one of the top men in the league – Max Clegg – and he has excellent back-up too.
“They are also managed by that wily old fox – and great friend of Mildenhall – Malcolm Vasey.
“We’re taking nothing for granted but I know the lads are bursting to put on a real performance.”
The club staged a testimonial meeting for former Fen Tigers favourite Jon Armstrong last Sunday.

Australian star Rory Schlein was the winner of the individual event which celebrated Armstrong’s 25-year career in the sport.
He beat ex-Mildenhall man Stefan Nielsen, Ben Morley and Kevin Doolan in the final after also going unbeaten through the heats.
Armstrong, who enjoyed three spells as a Mildenhall rider, managed one race win himself.
