A SOLID performance from Sutton saw them off to a winning start at the weekend as they overcame Littleport II by three wickets.
Sutton endured a torrid time in 2009 but were quick to banish those memories as they put the Littleport top order on the rack with their unyielding consistency.
Though Port were able to last their 40 overs, regular wickets from Sutton saw them finish on just 134, Stuart Wallace top scoring with 29. Robert Braybrooke starred with the ball for Sutton taking 2-31 from his eight over spell.
A nervy start with the bat threatened to spoil Sutton's day as Richard Scott took 3-16 for Littleport but a determined lower order effort from Chris Greaves (35*) saw them to victory.
