Sole and Cornthwaite prove they’re Andy at Newmarket Triathlon

TWO Andys led the way for Ely Tri Club on Sunday as they tackled the Newmarket Triathlon.

Andy Sole (56.47), pictured right, cruised through the 300m pool swim, 22km bike ride and 4km run to finish second out of 143 competitors.

He was followed home by team-mate Andy Cornthwaite (1:02.57), pictured left, who finished in ninth place overall but won his age group.

Kevin Chalmers (21st, 1:02.57) and Jay Woods (52nd, 1:07.38) were impressive, while David Green (34th, 1:04.42) excelled in his first triathlon.

Amy Sole (86th, 1:13.10) was Ely’s first woman home, before Madeline Howarth (127th, 1:23.56) and Michelle Chalmers (128th, 1:24.04) crossed the line seconds apart.
