SOHAM'S indomitable winning run was finally brought to an end at the weekend as they lost out by just one wicket at Cottenham.
Peter Hinde's team have excelled with the bat this season but were left wanting against a plucky Cottenham side as they were bowled out for 138. Hinde himself led the way with the bat, notching up 18 before being bowled.
Soham made a number of early inroads in to the home line-up in reply and, looked to have Cottenham on the rack as they swept through the top order for barely 40 runs. A resilient display from a number of the lower order threw a spanner in the works though, and despite getting Cottenham down to their last man, they proved unable to finish the job. David Lunn once again impressed with the ball as he took 3-22.
