Soham Roller Hockey Club were crowned Eastern Counties Senior Division One League champions last weekend – despite being formed only two years ago.

After finishing in an impressive third place in the club’s first season, the Soham stars surged to the league title in style this year, winning 14 of their 18 matches and losing only once.

The ten man team comprises of players aged 16 to 21-years-old, with nine having played for their country at either under 17s, under 20s or senior level.

Soham overcame rivals Bury St Edmunds, King’s Lynn, Colchester, Cottenham and Letchworth to seal their first ever title, and were presented with the league trophy on Sunday February 7.
