Soham Rink Hockey Club (RHC) has had a winning weekend.

On Saturday June 30, Soham RHC took three teams down to Herne Bay Arena for National Cup Finals Day.

First up was the ntional league division one team playing for the league title against Letchworth.

A hard fought game saw a young Soham team take the title with a 4-3 win against the more experienced Letchworth team.

Soham’s under 17s team were up next playing for the National Cup against a confident Herne Bay team.

The national cup winners to be invited to Eurockey Cup held in Blanes, Barcelona in October.

Soham’s under 17s in there first year as a team and with two thirteen year old in the squad went in as the underdogs.

A nail-biting game saw Soham come out on top with an amazing 5-2 win.

Last game of the day was Soham’s senior team playing for the National Cup against their premiership rivals Kings Lynn.

A rollercoaster of a game saw the Kings Lynn team in the lead at half time with 1 goal.

The second half was very tense with the crowd getting behind their teams.

With 48 seconds to go Soham were down to 3 outfield and Alex Jones scored to bring the game to a 4-4 draw.

Extra time saw both teams fighting hard for the golden goal without success.

Penalties were tense, some accurate shooting and some superb saves by goalkeeper Ed Mount saw Soham take the title 6-4.

A fantastic end to a superb day for Soham Rink Hockey Club.

No rest for the senior team who had the final leg of the Eastern Counties League Division One at Great Yarmouth on Sunday Morning.

A fantastic day of rink hockey and they managed to secure the Eastern Counties title.

Four cups in two days - an amazing achievement for a small town club.
