BY RON MOORE

Men's League

UNBEATEN Soham A overcame the B team to stay in front of Littleport, followed by Newmarket and City of Ely, who both won by four shots away at Isleham and Stretham respectively.

City beat Soham B by more than 70 shots for the second time in a week, most recently in the Stan Aldous Knockout. Also through to the next round are Soham A, Chippenham, Ely Beet B and Isleham.

Ladies' League

IN the top-of-the-table clash between the Soham teams, B edged it by three shots over A, who dropped down a place, Isleham slipping into second spot with a comfortable win over Newmarket.

Holders of the Bill Bayes Cup, Haddenham, went out of this year's competition by two shots to Littleport, who are joined in the quarter-finals by Isleham, Soham B, Stretham and Cottenham.

Afternoon League Division One

AS the nearest challengers all lost, Mitchell Lodge went further ahead having had five wins in a row. Willingham missed the chance to narrow the gap suffering their first defeat at City of Ely.

Littleport B jumped six places as a result of victories at Bottisham and at home to Littleport A.

Afternoon League Division Two

MILTON maintained their 100 per cent record, taking 10 points off Haddenham B and Sutton to move away from Hiams, losers at Chippenham who improved their position with two wins.

Ely Beet also had a double success, lifting them off the bottom, now occupied by Isleham who have only played two matches.
