LITTLE Downham were made to pay for a sluggish batting performance as they lost out by five wickets at home to Needingworth.
Opting to bat first, Downham's line-up struggled to convert good starts in to big scores and, save for a decent knock of 37 from G Martin, they struggled to reach 113-8 he close of the innings.
R Palmer (2-21) and J White (2-20) gave Downham some hope with the ball as they nipped out a number of early wickets to put doubt in the visitors mind. It proved not enough though, as the visitors reached their paltry target with some 10 overs to spare.
