ELY had to contend with heavy snowfall as they pipped Cambourne 2 by a single goal to win 18-17.
In a match that was keenly contested throughout, neither side was able to steal a significant lead thanks, in part, to resolute defending.
Rachel Starling was the star performer for Ely as she scored some crucial goals with the able assistance of Anita Reidy combined with some measured passing around the circle from Karen Carter and Jo Hayward.
Stand in defender Catherine Buck was stoic at the back and fitted in well with the defensive duo of Jo Elkington and Gemma Munns.
Karen Carter was voted by Cambourne as Player of the Match.
