DAVE Pinkowski and Tony Lyes' reign as Mildenhall Town managers got off to a dream start.
The pair led Ely City to the Jewson Division One title in 1997 and have taken over at Town after a short spell managing Kershaw Senior A side Lakenheath.
The first half saw few chances but Mildenhall went into the break 1-0 up through centre-back Andy Eady's header.
The Mildenhall players seemed inspired in the second half and played slick passing football.
Eady grabbed his second five minutes after the re-start when the visiting goalkeeper failed to cope with Lewis Blois's in-swinging free-kick.
Another Blois free-kick saw Matt Robinson glance the ball home for 3-0 and, shortly after, Blois left the goalkeeper with no chance when he fired a 25-yard free-kick into the back of the net.
Andrew Claydon's quickfire brace took it to 6-0 and Dave Werthmen completed the rout with a close-range finish.

Soham Town Rangers 6
SOHAM striker Darren Jimson inspired his team to an emphatic win in a new central midfield role.
Jimson slotted in alongside Peter Hinde to replace suspended Rangers skipper Michael Simpson and was instrumental in seeing Soham bounce back from last week's 3-2 defeat to Kirkley and Pakefield - their first defeat in 13 league games.
Charles Libam's overhead kick gave Soham an eighth-minute lead after a Jimson long throw.
Twenty minutes later, Paul Jones converted Aaron Turner's cross to double the advantage.
Andy Furnell and Libam both struck a post before centre-back Martin McNeil scored his first Soham goal - a glancing header from close range on the stroke of half-time.
Jimson then charged through the centre before winning a challenge with the goalkeeper and rolling the ball into an empty net for 4-0 just after the hour-mark.
Five minutes later, Jimson's well-delivered cross found Furnell in the box and the striker scored with a fine finish on the turn.
Jones completed the scoring 15 minutes from time with a first-class finish from just inside the box.
