ELY Rugby Club have received their re-accreditation of the Rugby Football Union Seal of Approval.

The award is given after an extensive review of the administration of club finances, facilities, coaching and constitution.

Reviews of procedures with regards to the Criminal Records Bureau for coaches and staff who work with children are also carried out.

Clubs have to achieve accreditation to be eligible for RFU grants to improve facilities.

Ely was only the second rugby club in the Eastern counties to achieve accreditation three years ago. Accreditation has to be renewed every three years and, this year, Eastern Counties RFU invited previously-accredited clubs in the region to an awards ceremony at Cambridge Rugby Club.

Ely club president Wayne Marshall and director of rugby Terry Moore received a wall plaque from RFU vice-president Brian Williams.
