A MIDFIELD battle with few chances saw each side gain a point.

Witchford broke the deadlock when a Haddenham defender turned Callum Munden's corner into his own net.

Some excellent handling from Witchford stopper Sam Brewer denied efforts from Joshua Lowe, Kieran Petty and William Darlington, but Petty cut in from the left to thump in a late equaliser.

LITTLEPORT produced their best performance of the season to see off an improving Witchford.

Thomas Deverell's goal separated the sides and Witchford hit the woodwork several times.

Ely Crusaders 7 Stretham A 3

ELY secured another win in tricky conditions against a well-organised Stretham team.

Two Max Wright goals put Ely ahead but Stretham pulled level.

Finley Logan then scored a hat-trick before the away team scored again.

The ball was flying from end to end until Wright pounced to score two more goals to ensure a great team effort was rewarded.

Newmarket 5 Soham Town Colts 1

SOHAM'S run of form ended with Newmarket beating them heavily for the second time this season.

Newmarket hit the post and then cleared off their line shortly after, while Soham's man of the match Jordan Turpin linked up well with Travis Isaacson throughout.

Newmarket scored from close range in the second half, but Alistair Hutchinson equalised with a back heel.

Soham created chances but Newmarket scored four more when Town left themselves exposed at the back.

Under-12

Littleport Town 1 Stretham Sporting 2

'PORT took the lead after a good run and finish from Nico Bishop, but they were punished for missing a host of chances when Stretham equalised from Greg Hine's corner.

The visitors took the lead with a Will Crisp penalty after a handball.

Some fine saves from Josh Tollett kept Town in it, but they couldn't finish off numerous breaks in the second half.

Isleham 0 Hundon Hawks 4

A MAN of the match performance from stand-in goalkeeper Jamie Easter wasn't enough to save Isleham.

Jonny Poole came close to giving the hosts the lead with a header but the first half remained goalless.

The Hawks went straight on the attack from kick-off, but were again thwarted by the outstanding Easter.

But Hundon's relentless pressure paid off, and the win was comfortable in the end.

Under-14

Cambridge Musketeers 0 Soham Town Colts 6

TOWN cruised to a comfortable win, playing stunning football in very wet conditions.

A Graham Carson brace and an Elliot Drewery strike put Soham 3-0 up at the break.

The outstanding Drewery went on to score all three of Soham's second-half goals.

Right-back Dan Brook was Soham's man of the match.

Ely City 1 Alconbury 2

THE title favourites were outplayed by an in-form City.

Matt Waites, Liam Heaps and Codie Couzens all went close early on as Ely played some of their best football of the season.

A superb Dan Beavis pass set up Jordan Miller, who finished with a low drive to give Ely the lead in the second half.

City suffered a double blow when Alconbury scored two quick goals against the run of play.

City quickly picked themselves up and Ryan Collins carried the ball from his own half and crashed a superb shot from 25 yards against the bar.

Sean Richardson came on and City had a penalty shout when Waites appeared to be bundled over, but luck wasn't with them as Alconbury held on.

Under-15

Witchford Colts 4 Bottisham 3

A LATE stunner from Josh Walder gave Witchford the points.

Bottisham took the lead after 15 minutes, but Jamie Douglas equalised five minutes later.

Douglas scored again shortly after the break and, after Bottisham equalised, Sam Barber fired Witchford ahead again, but Bottisham made it 3-3.

Walder recovered from a slip to grab the winner in the closing stages.

Under-16

Soham Town 2 Littleport Town 1

SOHAM'S clinical finishing won the match as Littleport were made to rue a host of missed chances.

After Dan Bell hit Soham's crossbar, Sean Monigatti put the visitors 1-0 up before the interval after a goalmouth scramble.

Soham were dangerous on the break and equalised mid-way through the second half after a corner.

Littleport responded by creating a series of chances but brave defending and poor finishing denied them, and they were made to pay when a Soham forward chased a through-ball and showed them how to score.

The visitors threw everything into attack in the dying minutes and forced two good saves, but ultimately there was no way back.
