THE fifth race in the Autumn series was held at Ely Sailing Club on Sunday.

With good wind blowing across the lake, this made for some excellent sailing.

The first handicap race was won by Alex Tory in his Solo, with Simon Leeks second and Gerald Copsey third in a National 12, crewed by his son Nicholas.

The class race for the Enterprise fleet was won by Hugh and Robbie Marshall, after a long tussle with the second-placed boat, helmed by Claire Christian and Marie Brown. Dennis Copsey and Martin Mills took third.

The Solo fleet was lead for all three laps by winner Leeks. Alex Tory took second and Gary Ungless was third.

Race three was again dominated by Leeks, who led for all four laps in his Solo.

Showing much-improved form in second place was Niall Pearcey, also sailing a Solo and Alex Tory finished third in this race.
