PYMOOR got their season off to a strong start after a fine bowling display saw them ease to a 34 run victory at St Ives.

Having set St Ives a muscular target of 200 to chase in 40 overs, Pymoor set about making life uncomfortable for their hosts and an electric spell of bowling from Jamie Russell saw him pick up 5-20 and help his side skittle St Ives for just 166.

Batting first, Pymoor took to their task with gusto and skilful knocks from Jack Hargraves (50) and Asley Legge (39) saw Pymoor to the key 200 run mark that left St Ives needing exactly five runs an over for victory.

The home side got off to an aggressive start in reply and knocked off a good chunk of their target before a pivotal catch in the deep from Mark Neighbour removed the home skipper for 53 and turned the match on its head.
