ELY Runners Daisy Glover, put in another impressive showing at the weekend as she secured a top 20 finish in the inaugural Cambourne 10k.

A host of club representatives were in attendance at the race but it was the youngster who took the plaudits as she beat off stiff competition to be the first female home and 13th overall in a time of 37mins 21secs.

There were notable finishes also for John Glover and Steve Collett who both secured places in the top 100 of the race in which there were 822 finishers.

The race itself was held amid a challenging backdrop of woodland, lakes and rural footpaths with ten Ely Runners in total in attendance. The overall winner of the race was Nicholas Beer who came home in 34mins 4secs.
