Ely Tigers ran in a double-figure tally of tries to storm to their biggest win of the season on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers hammered London League Three North-East strugglers Ilford Wanderers 73-10 to close the gap on fifth place Stowmarket to two points with just one game to play.
Man-of-the-match Alfie Ramswell kicked off the try-fest with a converted try before Nathan Brookes, John Dibb (2), Luke Rogan, Lory Martin, Matt McCarthy, Chris Offley and Sam Benzie (3) chipped in to send Ely to their third straight league success.
And they will hope for a fourth from their final league match of the season this Saturday.
The Tigers host lowly Lowestoft & Yarmouth, knowing a win and a Stowmarket defeat will see them finish their campaign in fifth.
