A ROWER from Burwell won a gold medal at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta in Nottingham on Saturday.
Twelve regions raced in two heats of six, with the fastest six going through to the final.
Representing the East of England, James Scott, a King's School Ely student, was the fastest qualifier in the heats of the single sculls and crossed the line in the final, 14 seconds clear, to take the gold medal.
Fellow King's students, Robert Deamer, Laurence Dugdale, Max Hutchins and cox, Edward Cumberland won silver in the quad sculls.
Isle of Ely Rowing Club's Ellie Miller, from Isleham, also won a silver medal at the regatta, in the Woman's Junior 15 Coxed Quad Scull.
Sculling with four girls from St Neots, the 15-year-old came second to a team from Henley Rowing Club, missing out on victory by just three seconds.
