ELY II were away at Wymondham while Ely were at Soham in their respective under-13 tournaments.

Ely had a good start against the strong King's Lynn team, with Sam Norton scoring their goal to see a half-time score of 1-1.

Even though Ely applied a lot of pressure and created scoring chances, they just could not reply to Kings Lynn's efforts and lost 6-1.

Against Bury, they found the going easier and managed to create good scoring opportunities.

With goals coming from Sam Norton (5), Dominic Jones (2) and Dan Salisbury, they eased to an 8-2 win.

League leaders Peterborough were the next opposition, and they again showed their class.

Ely did press hard in this match and Salisbury scored within the first minute.

Despite Dan scoring again, however, and Sam Norton also hitting the target, it was not enough and Peterborough went on to win 6-3.

Local rivals Cambridge provided Ely with the final match of the day.

Ely scored freely and they reached half-time leading 6-3.

With Cambridge only scoring three in reply to Ely's five in the second half, the final score of 11-6 was in Ely's favour with goals from Simon Thompson (2), Norton (5) Dominic Jones (2) and Salisbury (2).

Ely II did not fare as well in their games.

League leaders Letchworth caused Ely problems, winning 15-0.

The scoreline flattered Letchworth to a degree as Ely had created a few chances and their keeper did make some fine saves.

Against Peterborough, Ely again proved to be goal-shy.

The best opportunity came to Ely in the form of a second-half penalty but even this was saved and saw them lose 9-0.

Norwich followed as did Ely's first goal of the day, with Aiden Cooper scoring in a 9-1 defeat by the home team.

Rees Parfitt again played for EC select and managed to score one of their goals in a 6-2 defeat by Norwich.

Kasia Parfitt saved a penalty for EC in their 10-0 defeat to Peterborough. EC also lost 11-0 to Letchworth.

Players of the day were Sam Norton (Ely) with a joint award for Chloe Brown and Aiden Cooper (Ely II).
