ELY City stretched their unbeaten league run to four games at the weekend as they played out at 0-0 draw at home to Walsham-le-Willows.
The Robins came into the game on the back of three straight wins in the league but the difficult conditions and a lack of killer instinct in front of goal denied them an arguably deserved victory.
The point sees Denis Lightning's men move on to 24 points and up into 16th place ahead of Saturday's clash at Felixstowe.
The first-half was a testing affair for both teams as the respective defences conspired to make life difficult for attacking intent to bear fruit. The best chance of the half fell to attacking midfielder Richard Chadwick, whose flicked header from a Jamie Alsop free-kick was denied by an impossibly acrobatic lunge from the visiting keeper.
After the break, play began to open up as the teams went in search of the lead and Robins' keeper Lee Pacey had to be alert on a few occasions as Walsham looked to thread balls in behind the Ely defence.
Pacey suffered a hefty blow to the ribs on one occasions as he denied an onrushing striker what would have been the easiest of tap-ins.
