ELY City stretched their unbeaten run to three games after thrashing Raunds Town 4-0 in the FA Cup.

The Robins were full of confidence coming into the game after superlative wins over Felixstowe and Histon in the league and their good form was evident from the outset once more as they breezed past 10-man Raunds.

Striker Grant Robbins oppened the scoring for Ely with less than 10 minutes on the clock, dusting himself down after a foul in the box to convert from the spot and Richard Chadwick doubled the lead minutes short of half-time.

In-form captain Simon Warren made it 3-0 with a well directed header early in the second half and Nick Impey finished the scoring late on.

The win moves Dennis Lightning’s men into the next round of the potentially lucrative FA Cup competition.
