ELY City crashed out of the Cambs Invitation Cup on Wednesday night at the hands of Fulbourn Institute.
Despite going ahead inside a minute through the returning Richard Chadwick, the Robins failed to push on and were soon pegged back by the visitors who equalised through Simon Swinton.
Fulbourn’s Neil Elsom put the visitors ahead just after the hour-mark but Ely pulled level with less than 10 minutes remaining courtesy of a Grant Robbins goal.

The visitors capitalised on some poor defending from Alan Alsop’s men to move ahead in extra-time and Ely were exposed twice more in the latter stages as they poured forward in search of a way back into the game.
The Robins will be looking to get back on track when they host suffolk-side Leiston at the Unwin Ground on Saturday.
