Robins boss eyes fight back after damaging two weeks

Ely City boss Brady Stone says his team have been “shattered” by two crushing defeats in as many weeks.
Since winning their first two league games of the season, the Robins have been thrashed 7-0 in back-to-back games against Norwich United and Ipswich Wanderers, sending their goal difference plummeting to -39.
But Stone says his side will have to shake off any lingering woes as they prepare to travel to fellow strugglers Walsham-le-Willows, on Saturday.
He said: “It’s been a very difficult couple of weeks for us. After two good wins, confidence was flowing in the team but we have been shattered in two games.
“I think maybe the wins made us a bit over-confident and we just did not perform. We just haven’t worked hard as a team like I know we can and we will have to put that right in training.”
Stone said he was also concerned about going two games without scoring or creating enough in attack. Despite sitting second from bottom of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, the Robins have not struggled to score goals this season but have drawn a blank in their last two outings.
Stone said: “We didn’t really create much against Ipswich but it doesn’t help when you find yourself 4-0 down at half-time.

“But Walsham are only a couple of places above us so I am expecting it to be a tight game. The boys are really up for it and we want to go out there and put things right.”
Saturday’s match will see the Robins line up without Liam Griffin and Dan Jeffery, who are both absent with injury, while Josh Townshend and Nick Bell have left the club.
Stone said that he was still looking at adding players to his 17-man squad in order to create competition for places.
Ely City Reserves are also in action on Saturday as they entertain Fenstanton at the Unwin Ground in the Kershaw Senior A League. Kick off is 3pm.
