A BLISTERING opening 20 minutes from Soham Town Rangers saw them put four past a shell-shocked Rothwell side.

The Greens have been in superlative form of late and four goals in a breathless opening salvo ensured that they made light work of mid-table Rothwell.

The win, Soham's second in three games, extends their unbeaten run to four games, moving them up into 15th place in the Zameretto League.

The Greens opened the scoring through Charles Libam after 12 minutes as the striker slotted home from the penalty spot following a foul on defender Andrew Coleman.

Dubi Ogbonna added his 17th of the season just four minutes later, slotting home after good work wide on the right by Deakan Napier.

Ogbonna was again involved in Soham's third as he picked out Napier amid a crowd of defenders, with the diminutive winger making no mistake from close range.

The points were all but sealed bang on the 20-minute mark as Ogbonna broke free in the box to finish from a Scott Carter cross.

To their credit, Rothwell continued undeterred following a raucous opening spell and managed to pull a goal back 10 minutes shy of half-time courtesy of Bobby White.

The visitors added another goal 10 minutes into the second-half to get pulses racing among the home faithful but Soham held firm amid a late barrage to claim three valuable points.
