An athletics ace from King’s Ely was given her county colours at the English Schools Athletics Championships in Gateshead.
15-year-old Rebecca Daniel represented Cambridgeshire in the Intermediate Girls 800m event and ran inside the qualifying time on an impressive four occasions.
Jim Thompson, head of athletics at King’s Ely, said: “Congratulations to Rebecca on her second consecutive selection to represent Cambridgeshire and competing so admirably in a high quality field at Gateshead.”
The English Schools Athletic Championships is the fourth largest Athletics Championships in the world and provides young athletes with ideal preparation for future World Athletic events.
