MOTORCYCLING: Ely-born rider Phillip Cossey is looking for sponsorship to help him compete in an international competition.

Phillip, 19, who now lives in Ramsey, is taking part in the Rookie 600 Cup, a series of amateur races organised by the British Motorcycle Racing Club.

He is currently 10th in the championship with eight races to go.

Phillip is driven to succeed by the death of his mentor, Gus Scott, who died while competing in the Isle of Man TT last year - on Philip's 18th birthday.

Mum Clare Cossey said: "I thought this would put Phillip off racing but has instead made him more determined to succeed."

If you can help, contact Clare on 07979 951882.
