Ely racer Graham Bahr, battled it out in the Track and Race Magazine Saloon Car Championship, had mixed fortunes in two races at Snetterton last Saturday.

He qualified his turbo-charged BMW E30 in sixth for race one, and in the race held his position well from the start. However, the race was red-flagged with just four laps completed because of a serious incident at Coram and the results were declared at that point. Bahr was credited with sixth overall and first in class, also posting the fastest lap in his class.

The grid for race two was determined by the finishing order of race one, so Bahr lined up sixth on the grid and grabbed fifth at the start. By the end of lap two he was in a strong fourth place overall but, unfortunately, it was not to last and he retired from the race on the next lap. Despite not finishing race two, he managed to set the fastest lap in his class. Both races were won by Rod Birley, driving a Ford Escort WRC.
