PYMOOR'S fine start to the season continued at the weekend as they smashed their way to a five wicket win over Doddington.

Though their bowling was more restrictive than impacting, Pymoor's batting added real spark to the match and a number of sizeable contributions ensured that they knocked off what was a decent total in double quick time.

Doddington opted to bat first and found themselves largely untroubled as they racked up 174-5 from their 40 overs. A respectable scoring rate of 4.35 meaning that the visitors would have to work for the win.

The task proved far less daunting than was expected for a confident batting line-up though, and a noteworthy knock of 40 from Paul Ruskin added the gilding to an eye-catching knock of 68 from Jamie Russell.

Pymoor wrapped up the win, their second in as many weeks, in just 34 overs, an aggressive scoring rate of more than five an over.
