A STERLING performance from the Littleport Lions Korfball team saw them score a 7-2 victory over local rivals Ely Vikings late last week.

The Lions started at a furious pace, scoring four early goals as Ely struggled to come to terms with the home attack. After battling through the opening onslaught, Ely regrouped and launched some attacks of their own, only to be denied by a combination of patient defending and lacklustre finishing.

The Lions managed another three goals in the second-half with Hayley Evans notching two. Ely meanwhile emerged with credit after pulling two goals back through captain Laura Matthews and Adam Stanford.
