LITTLEPORT'S recent upturn in form was dealt a crushing blow as they lost out by eight wickets to Girton.

Opting to bat first, Littleport struggled to deal with some ferocious bowling and, aside for a resilient knock of 40 down the order from D Mason, they crumbled, finishing on 124 all out.

Port fared little better with ball in hand as Girton progressed at an alarming rate, motoring along at around six per-over, reaching their total of 125 in a little more than 20 overs.

Despite the unenviable task of bowling to a determined batting line-up, Port's A Dougan emerged with credit as he collected 1-14 from his four over spell.
