ELY Runners Ian Day picked up an impressive top 10 placing at the Eye 10k held in Peterborough at the weekend.
Attracting around 500 competitors to the quiet fenland village of Eye, the race is always fiercely contested with nine representatives from the Ely club turning out to take part this year.
Day took the plaudits on this occasion however, as he came home in ninth place in a decent time of 36 mins dead, a little over two minutes behind the eventual winner. There was also an impressive finish for Steve Tovey whose time of 38mins 54secs was enough to earn him 34th place and a new personal best time by some 30 seconds.
