A GROUP of five young cricketers from the City of Ely Cricket Club have been selected to play for Cambridgeshire in 2013.

Ben (Under 10s), Joe and Louis (Under 11s), George (Under 14s) and Millie (Under 15s) all won through competitive trials against hundreds of other players from across Cambridgeshire for the chance to represent their county this summer.

Meanwhile, City of Ely’s junior section continues to train every week. This season will see the club enter teams in the Cambridgeshire leagues at U11, U13 and U15. Anyone interested in playing cricket this season should contact the club at cityofely_cc@hotmail.com or 01353 662886. The junior section takes players from Year 4 to Year 10 but are particularly keen to recruit players for the U15 team (Years 9 and 10).
