Pymoor blast their way past March

PYMOOR boosted their promotion push with a six-wicket win over March III on Saturday.
CCA Division 2A
Steve Saberton’s side put on an outstanding display with both bat and ball to sweep aside the league strugglers, while moving themselves to within a point of promotion chasing rivals Sutton.
The win was Pymoor’s third in a four-game stretch that has seen them turn around their flagging fortunes this season.
After winning the toss, March opted to bat first but the decision quickly proved to be a foolhardy one as Pymoor used home-track advantage to maximum effect.
Opening bowler Lourens Herselman was in prime wicket-taking form while skipper Saberton continued to build pressure at the other end with some frugal bowling.
Though without a wicket, Saberton went for just nine runs in his five overs, while Herselman starred at the opposite end, picking up four wickets for just 22 runs from his whirlwind 10-over spell.
With March reeling, young Ashley Legge was introduced into the attack and showed no sign of allowing the pressure to ease as he took three wickets for 29 runs in a five-over blitz that strangled the life out of the March innings.
The last wicket fell with just 86 runs on the board for the visitors, who had a mountain to climb to rescue a result.
Keen to see that Pymoor were straight onto the front foot with the bat, opener Herselman went hard at the bowling, smashing 50 runs off of just 20 balls.
Such was the ferocity of the onslaught, the win was wrapped up in just 11 overs, for the loss of just four wickets.
Pymoor will be in action again on Saturday when they play host to mid-table Longstanton Grasshoppers.
