LITTLEPORT 2nd XI enjoyed the fruits of their continued success as they clocked up a third straight win at the expense of Fenstanton.

The second team have time and again this season, led the way for the club and so it proved again on this occasion as they picked up a six wicket win.

Bowling first, Port carved their way through the home order with little fuss and, but for a half century down the order, could well have removed Fenstanton for a great deal less than the 145 they eventually made.

Stalwarts Doug Marsh (3-37) and T Berry (3-20) weighed in with the bulk of the wickets as Port left their batsmen needing little more than 3.5 an over for the victory.

As expected the batsmen made light work of their chase and presentable knocks from much of the order, including a stand-out innings of 52* from A Berry, ensured that they reached their total in just 27 overs.

The news from the first team was not so impressive however, as, missing a number of key players, they slipped to a disappointing eight wicket defeat against Shelford.

A Dougan's 36 was the highlight of Port's efforts with the bat as they struggled to build meaningful partnerships, and were removed for just 147.

S Kimsey was the stand-out performer for Port in a arduous innings with the ball as he collected 1-25.
