WITCHAM picked up the pieces from the disappointment of last week to record a comprehensive 167 run win over Milton 2nd XI.

Opting to take to the crease first, Witcham were evidently keen to right the wrongs of last week and secure some good batting time in the middle. S Cooper led the way for the home side as he racked up an elephantine score of 107 to go with good knocks from T Phillips (61) and A Sharp (38).

Though the beneficiaries of a whopping 39 extras, Witcham scored at a ruthlessly high rate of almost eight an over to reach 317-8 at the close.

With a veritable mountain to climb, there seldom seemed much hope for Milton, and so it proved as, despite reaching 150, itself a useful enough score, they never threatened the herculean efforts of Witcham, who recorded their biggest win this term.

C Houghton's fine return of 4-15 was the undoubted highlight of Witcham's bowling efforts.
