Fordham won by 7 wickets after being set a revised target

IN another rain-affected fixture, Fordham consolidated their mid-table position by defeating bottom club Kimbolton & Catworth to claim 20 points.

The first stoppage came when Kimbolton were on 28 for 1, but Clinton Cornwell - who had taken the opening wicket - continued his fine spell and claimed further wickets (eventually taking 5 for 39) as the visitors were reduced to 45 for 5.

Fordham's target of 121 was reduced to 78 (for 8) from 31 overs, and openers Gavin Harding and Mark Silcock played very positively with a partnership of 48 which included several front foot drives through the covers.

Harding eventually saw Fordham past their target with a score of 28 not out.
