City of Ely’s under 12 cricket team finished their season as league champions after triumphing in a top of the table clash with Histon.

Heading into the game, both teams had lost just a single match so the destination of this year’s championship trophy rested on their head-to-head clash.

Winning the toss, Ely decided to bat first and posted a target of 86 for 3 from their 20 overs. After a fantastic opening spell of bowling, backed up by some great fielding and catching, Ely managed to limit Histon to 73 for 7 at the close, thereby clinching the title.
