TIME trial extraordinaire Alan Newark, cut swathes through the competition once more this week at Ely Cycling Club's latest racing event.

Newark, who has scored a number of impressive victories already this season, once again displayed his talent for the time trial on the Little Downham to Coveney circuit, edging Jason Nixon out by just two seconds.

Newark covered the popular Little Downham and Coveney circuit in a blistering

29:49 with Nixon (29:51) and Lee Desborough (29:53) mere second behind. John McAndrew earned a special mention for a truly inspired ride that took him closer again to the regular top trio at 30:50 with Tom Sykes also finding the right gears just two seconds further back.

This coming Sunday (June 21) Ely Cycling club host a 'Come And Try It' event at the Mepal Outdoor Centre for anyone with a bike. The event includes a family off-road ride around the fenland droves, track racing for under 12's and mountain bike racing for over 12's.
