THE near perfect sailing conditions saw 21 members of Ely Sailing Club take to the water on Sunday (19) afternoon. Four of them found it warm enough to take a dip, although not intentionally.
In the first race Tym Forder in the club Laser capsized going upwind but he soon recovered without getting too wet. Jack Cammann went in twice in the third race and again recovered without sampling the chilly depths. The most spectacular dunking was executed by John Wells and his daughter Molly who rolled in having just squeezed into the lead.
Despite the swims the results were very close with one second separating first and second in the final handicap race which also counts as a class race.
