ELY karate ace Nato Ficarra has unveiled plans to take his martial arts schools to Italy.
The three-time European karate champion announced this week that he plans to launch a monthly class in Rome from February, with a second class opening in Milan in March.
Nato says that he has almost 200 students signed up to take part in the sessions, and plans to run them alongside his classes in Ely and around East Cambridgeshire.
He said:
“I will be travelling to Italy once a month to teach three hour lessons and, if it takes off, I may increase that to two trips a month. The clubs have grown so much now and it’s all very exciting.
“I have a great team of black belts around me which has been brilliant for me and the students. I am of course very excited that my schools are growing and now moving abroad.”
