James Callard, a 13-year-old pupil at the King's School Ely, has been selected for the England Independent Schools national prep schools squad after impressing selectors at a residential festival over the Easter holidays.
James and three other King's Junior School pupils - George Lee, Francis Rowlands and Tom Sweeney - represented East Anglia at the training camp at Repton School.
Their coach, David Boothroyd, the Junior School's head of boys' games, said: "We are delighted that all four boys did exceptionally well and were part of an unbeaten East Anglian team.
"James did especially well to be selected for the national squad."
