Morley speeds to double delight

ELY motor-cycle racer Craig Morley picked up two wins and two second places at the British Motor Cycle Racing Club Championship at Brands Hatch on March 11.
Craig, who is in his third year of competitive racing, blew away his rivals with two firsts and two seconds from four races to make a flying start to the championship.
Craig also recorded two fastest laps in the four outings, as he really showed his class.
The competition attracts riders from all over the country the next round is at Lydden Hill in Kent on April 8 and 9. Three heats are of eight laps and the other is seven laps.
The former Ely Community College pupil, 17, who lives at Old Bank, Prickwillow, started racing in 2003 in the Aprilla Superteen Challenge. He went on that year to race in the MRO and Bemsee championships where got lapped in his first two races but he quickly improved and finally ended up 32nd in the MRO and a respectable 19th in the Bemsee.
By the end of his second season Morley was competing with the front pack and lead his first race at Oulton Park but, with only a few laps to go, was nudged and crashed out. Morley finished the 2004 season seventh in the MRO and seventh in the Bemsee.
In his third season Morley was setting his sights on becoming a champion. He qualified in pole position at Silverstone and won the first race of the weekend and followed up with two second places and a third. He finished the 2005 season in an impressive fourth place in the MRO championship.
With these remarkable improvements the future looks bright for Craig Morley and he has ambitions to go on and win the GP125 British Superbike Championship.
Morley is now looking to become a full time professional motor cycle racer, but he needs sponsorship to fulfil his dreams.
