ELY'S mini section travelled to St Neots on Sunday on a day where the weather was improving from late.

The Tiger-eights had their roughest and toughest games of the season but their determination pulled them through in the end.

Their first match ended 55-25 to St Neots.

The first half was all St Neots as Ely showed lack of concentration, with only Ruairidh MacDonald scoring for the Tigers.

The play got better in the second half with Mark Parry (2), Charlie Smith and Will Hurst all scoring. Hurst was adjudged player of the match.

The second match was much better as the Ely won 40-55 and the Tigers dominated from the start.

The first half saw Aaron Shergold, Mark Parry (2), James Walton, Ruairidh MacDonald and Ashley Clark (2) all scoring. Good support play and passing from the whole team.

The second half continued in the same vein. Try scorers were Mark Parry, Aaron Shergold, James Walton and Pierce Atkinson. The player of the match was Parry.

The Tiger-10s won their first match 10-5, try scorers for Ely were Will Marshall and James Fraser but lost the second

20-5.

The Tigers' lone try scorer was James Fraser. The player of the match for the Tiger-10s was Thomas Matcham.
