ELY powerlifter Kevin Peacock took top spot in the Masters category of the British Bench Press Championship last weekend.
The championships, held in Birmingham, bring together some of the country's premier names in powerlifting but Peacock remained unfazed as his lift of 110kg proved enough to take home the Masters title.
The victory however, brought mixed emotion from Peacock: "Although it's great to have the title of British Champion, it's bit of a hollow victory as the country's two best Masters lifters were absent," he said.
Peacock will now turn his attentions along with fellow club-mate and Ely resident Jared Fortin to the All English Championships which take place in August.
