LITTLEPORT Leisure Centre hosted the final of the David Cornwall Trophy Knock Out County Competition on Sunday (28).

The competition, run by the Cambridgeshire County Indoor Bowls Association, is the combination of teams competing on a knock-out basis throughout the season from North, East and South Cambridgeshire to compete in the final.

Teams competing from East Cambridgeshire who made the final were Littleport Village Hall, Soham Ross Peers Sports Centre and Swaffham Prior.

In a very close final with both teams winning one set of the pairs matches, in the deciding final match of fours Soham Ross Peers Sports Centre (Bill and Carole Reeve, Dave and Margaret Long) was just pipped to the post by two shots by Fowlmere.
