The newest member of Littleport Gymnastics Club joined when the club opened their doors for the very first time at Oak Lane Business Park.
The club has expanded their operations by opening their own venue at the business park after seeing a growth in classes and an influence on the competition scene, both locally and nationally.
The newly opened Oak Lane Business Park sponsor the British Gymnastics Affiliated club by providing space for local gymnastic enthusiasts to learn and grow with influential instructor duo Diana and Denise Strange.
Richard Taylor, owner of the park said: “1 am humbled to support Diana and Denise to provide gymnastics coaching to the local community.
“Sport brings about such community that should be cherished and nurtured in any way it can. I’m just happy to play a part.”
Diana, head coach and a graduate of Stella Mann School of Dance, became a choreographer in a North East London gym where she also continued her gymnastics training.
Diana began work as a gymnastics coach at the prestigious Meapa in Kent before moving to the area.
Sister Denise started learning gymnastics at the early age of six and regularly competed on the national gymnastics circuit including taking bronze at the British Gymnastic Championships.
Together the sisters, with their decades of experience, started Littleport Gymnastics club to increase the availability of coaching locally.
Head Coach, Diana Strange said: “We quickly accrued a waiting list of residents with some travelling as far as King’s Lynn wanting to get involved and we wanted to find a space to cater for this.
“We are happy to call Oak Lane Business Park our new home as we create a space for anyone to come and enjoy gymnastics, just as we do.”
Currently the club hosts classes for all ages, sexes and abilities including apparatus training, summer half-term camps and parties.
Their students also regularly attend competitions on a county and national level.
Diana said: “We are greatly proud of our gymnasts and love to coach every one of them. Their dedication and hard work always shines at competition and we always look forward to the next one.”
The club plans to continue and increase their support for students with disabilities as well as introduce a weekday pre-school session however additional equipment will be required to do this.
Littleport Gymnastics Club is currently appealing to other local companies who may be in the position to sponsor equipment to help them reach this goal.
