LITTLE Thetford moved themselves up towards the promotion places after a fine nine wicket victory over Isleham 2nd XI.
Asked to bowl first, Thetford took to their task with admirable gusto and put in a bowling performance every bit as dazzling as the weekend sunshine.
Though, they failed to remove all 10 of the Iselham wickets, the unremitting accuracy of Mick Watson (2-24) and Mark Browne (2-37) ensured that the home side were unable to click into top gear and were restricted to just 136-6 from their 40 overs.
John Goff top scored for the home side with a decent-enough cameo of 29 runs before he was bowled by Browne.
Thetford were clinical in reply and cantered to victory largely thanks to the efforts of opening pair Browne (63) and Patrick Fitzackerly (62) who were seldom troubled as they manoeuvred the visitors to a telling victory.
