GYMNAST Laura Cole is a British champion.

Cole, 14, from Littleport produced a superb performance to become British Grade One Champion and win two gold medals in Birmingham.

She achieved top score in the beam and second place on the floor, to be the highest scoring overall of more than 50 top national gymnasts.

Cole competed as a member of the Eastern Region team, which took the team title over 12 other regions, earning her a second gold medal of the day.

She was selected after qualifying in the Eastern Region Championships.
