ELY City’s stretched their unbeaten league run to four games with a last-gasp draw against Kirkley and Pakefield.

Despite going taking a 2-1 lead into half-time, the Robins slipped up in the second half and had to rely on the increasingly prolific Luke Parkinson to rescue a draw with a neat finish in injury time.

The point sees Alan Alsop’s men slip to 11th in the Ridgeons Premier League ahead of Tuesday night’s league cup clash with March Town.

Kyle Baker opened the scoring early on for the visitors but his effort was quickly cancelled out by Josh Bridgeman. Adam Murray has been dominant in the air in the early stages of this season and so it proved again as he headed Ely into the lead before half-time.

Craig Bedingfield and Ryan Crisp struck early in the second half to move the visitors into the lead once more but they were unable to hold on for the win as Parkinson netted late on.
