KING’S School, Ely pupil Sarah Foss won gold at Cambridgeshire County Schools’ Athletics Championships at Cambridge University track on Saturday.
Sarah, 13, who is in Year 9 in King’s Senior School, won the junior girls’ long jump with a leap of 1m 45cm.
The date clashed with King’s Junior School sports day which prevented some Year 8 athletes from competing in Cambridge – but pupil Simon Kumar managed to compete in both events. He came fifth in the junior boys’ javelin with a throw of 26m 59cm.
